Ken Palson Enterprises Ltd. was founded in 1987 by Ken and his wife Sheila. Previous to that, Ken worked for two large contractors in Manitoba. With one, he spent a decade as foreman on a wide variety of earth moving projects throughout the Province and City of Winnipeg. With the other, he served ten years as general superintendant overseeing a large fleet of excavation and hauling equipment. Back in 1987, Ken's new enterprise had modest beginnings. The company started as a job broker with no equipment of its own. Ken simply found hourly and contract work, and hired private contractors to do the jobs. That first year saw rapid growth though, and soon the company purchased it's first backhoe and hired its first operator. Since then, Ken Palson Enterprises has expanded to a fleet of over 40 pieces of equipment including backhoes, excavators, track and rubber loaders, graders and dozers, and highway tractors and tandems. The city operation is currently supervised by Marc Roziere who has been with the company for fifteen years. In 1999, we were pleased to have Clyde Sigurdson join our company as controller and estimator. Currently he is Vice President and General Manager of KPE. He brought a wealth of knowledge with him. Clyde previously managed a family owned business involved in commercial fishing on Lake Winnipeg. He was later employed as Operations Manager with the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corp., and served as a Vice President of Operations for the Northwest Territories Development Corp. In 2005 we started working in the wind energy field. We did all the road and base work for a 63 turbine project as well as 51 of the P & H turbine tower base installations. To get these projects working smoothly we enlisted a first class project manager. Kevin Howardson brings 22 years of heavy construction and civil excavation experience to our company and has numerous high value projects to his credit. Kevin has developed a strong team who are ready for future wind farm and civil projects. Today, Ken Palson Enterprises Ltd. has 75 employees during prime season, and we're very proud of our lack of employee turnover. We are a COR certified company, and our workers regularly attend MHCA safety conferences to upgrade on all safety initiatives.
